Protecting a PCB from soil and sand is a relatively simple issue, but preventing water ingress is a completely different challenge. By it's nature water can penetrate through the tightest of cracks. In the spirit of ensuring we provide our customers with the best possible products, we challenged our PCB to a 65 hour submergence challenge. This emulates a worst case scenario where the device is unable to float to the surface. A trace of condensation was found in the box after the test was conducted but nothing sufficient enough to compromise the device performance. Following on from this test vertical drenching was performed, where no traces of water were found.
